CHOCOLATE MAKING WORKSHOPS WITH KAKAWA ARTISAN
Kakawa's parties and workshops are based in the heart of The National Fruit Collection at their state of the art, 5* Food Hygiene rated premises.
Their ‘Choccy HQ’ uses only the finest continental chocolates, designed for budding chocolatiers of any age who would like to have a go at making their own chocolate.
Come alone, come with a friend or bring the kids.

Enjoy delicious cocktails, wine and spirits whilst making your own milk chocolate masterpiece to compliment your evening.
Step into the world of imagination & have a glimpse at our chocolate making wonders.
First drink FREE
Booking preferred for all chocolate making sessions, with a maximum group number of 4 per session (larger groups will be split into multiples of 4). A selection of toppings will be provided, but you are of course welcome to bring along your own also.
6-10pm, Friday & Saturdays - book in advance or turn up on the evening - £35pp including first drink.

Any Cocktails served will be from pre mixed cocktail boxes.
Free admission for customers wishing to enjoy a drink only
Attendees will use pre tempered milk chocolate and create 3 x 100g slabs or 1 x 300g chocolate pizza each, once made your slabs will take around 15-20mins to set and be wrapped by Kakawa.

SUMMER HOLIDAY WORKSHOPS
Enjoy something different during the Summer holiday this year!
Come into Kakawa's wonderful world of chocolate and create your very own 300g milk chocolate pizza, or 3 x 100g topped slabs.
During this session you will use our state of the art milk chocolate tempering machine to create your very own chocolate masterpiece!
Making time - 15 minutes
Setting time - 15/20 minutes
Individual Sessions - Monday, Wednesday & Friday between 10am & 4pm
Family Sessions - Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday & Sunday between 10am & 4pm
Parent/Guardian supervision is required.

Kids Outdoor Music Workshops

Kids Outdoor Music Workshops; come and play at the National Fruit Collection in our beautiful orchards with local community samba band Samba Pelo Mar.
You’ll learn a piece of percussion-based music using the samba instruments and incorporating Brogdale’s own instruments in the World Music Garden. You’ll be playing surdo bass drums, snares and repiniques, tamborims, bells and shakers from Brazil along with Brogdale’s World Music Garden tubular gongs, bat phones and log drums from Africa, South America and Asia.
A performance and parade will be the finale of the workshop.
No previous experience needed and all instruments provided.

Tractor Trailer Tours and Guided Orchard Tours will be running throughout the day which are included in the price of your Orchard Pass tour ticket. See the orchards from a fresh perspective as one of our fantastic guides tells you all about the history and wonder of the collection.
Fruit Display
Enjoy a small display of the plums in season from the 332 varieties the National Fruit Collection at Brogdale. Discover fruit of all shapes, sizes and colours plus fact filled information on the history of plums in the National Fruit Collection at Brogdale.
Visitors can buy a full range of heritage plums from the market place.
For the first time at Brogdale, Orchard pass holders will be able to PYO plums from the heritage plum orchard varieties. PYO fruit picked is charged by weight.
Your Orchard Pass lasts a whole year, so you can discover Plum Weekend plus a year of fruit-filled orchard exploring with Brogdale Collections. Walk the orchard on a self-guided or guided tour all year long, from blossom to fruit and frosty winter.

Wild Classroom Outdoor Cooking

Are you wondering how to keep the kids busy this summer? Well look no further than the beautiful orchards of the National Fruit Collections at Brogdale. Why not spend a day of exploring our orchards at Brogdale and discover some new skills? Book your Wild Classroom: Outdoor Cooking kids' cooking session for some delicious, healthy, hearty, seasonal fun and spend some time exploring the orchards, learning new skills and having an enjoyable day.
2 Hours (Book a time for your Wild Classroom cooking & enjoy the whole day)
Get outdoors and cook over fire with Wild Classroom, using the very best local, seasonal and foraged foods. This two hour workshop will include a tour of Brogdale Collections stunning Heritage fruit collection, where you and your family will be able to enjoy exploring a huge variety of heritage tree fruit including early seasonal apples and a vast array of plums, damsons and gages.
Families will then return to the campfire where some of the freshly picked fruit will be put to culinary use in a hands-on workshop, making seasonal delights such as apple crumble, pea and apple soup, and plum and blackberry cobbler, all of course will be cooked over an open fire. There will be plenty to eat and enjoy, as well as a chance to ask any outdoor cooking questions that you may have.

Kids Juicing Workshop

Everyone loves apple juice, but have you ever thought about where it comes from and how it is made? Well, look no further than our lovely orchards of the National Fruit Collection and the Brogdale Collections Heritage Orchards this summer where we are giving kids a unique opportunity to explore where our apples are growing and find out what happens to them.
Come along to Brogdale and walk through our orchards, where you can see more than 3000 varieties of apples, cherries, pears, and plums growing, then, there is an opportunity to pick some seasonal fruit from our special heritage orchards and have a go at making juice.

Brogdale Cider Trail

Brogdale Cider Trail: Savour the summer while you sample over 50 ciders locally produced. Brogdale rolls up the barn doors to local producers of Artisan and specialist cider. Barrels of scrumptious cider and Perry only available in selected outlets will be racked and ready for visitors to sample.
Entertainment will include live music, activities for little festival-goers, fair games, and of course cider making demonstrations.
A free shuttle bus will be running from Faversham mainline train station to Brogdale throughout the weekend, allowing visitors easy access to public transport routes.
A great day out, just over an hour from London to the heart of the Kent countryside.
Taste the finest ciders from small producers based in and around Kent including Kentish Pip, Turners, Kent Cider Company and Biddenden’s. Along with Tiddly Pomme who are resident artisan cider producers, offering our very own apples from The National Fruit Collection, in their Woolly Pig. The Cider Barn will offer over 50 ciders to enjoy during the weekend. With cider sampling and tasting available all day. Ciders will range from lighter sparkling to fiery ginger flavours to classics made with traditional Cox and Bramley.
Visitors can follow the Cider Trail to find each of the producers for sampling and scoring. The people’s favourite will determine a ‘Cider or Perry of the Festival’.
Popular local bands will perform throughout the weekend with headline acts including Hullabaloo while Jumbo Gumbo will have visitors swinging their pants on the Festival Field.

Outdoor Cinema - The Greatest Showman

Bring along a chair or blanket, find a spot on the meadow and cosy up under the stars for a fabulous open air showing of The Greatest Showman (PG) on a phenomenal 220” screen.
The films tells the story of P.T. Barnum’s dream to create the greatest show on Earth, with his big ideas for acrobats, exotic performers and unforgettable songs.
Guests are invited to enjoy a relaxed atmosphere, where dressing up and singing along is all part of the fun!
There will also be a bar, serving beers, wines, soft drinks snacks and of course, popcorn.

Heritage Orchard Days
24 & 25 September and 15 & 16 October 2022
Come for a fun family day out at Brogdale Farm, over two weekends at harvest time.
Each day visitors will be able to delight in the wonderful orchards bursting with fruit, join expert guides on a tour of the National Collection, visit the fruit displays, try some traditional juice pressing, sample homemade ciders, and much more.
Included in the ticket price, visitors will also be able to harvest their own apples and pears to take home*. There are over a hundred different heritage varieties available to pick from, something to suit everyone.
These Heritage Orchard Days are a great opportunity to spend time outside with the family while enjoying some fresh Kent fruit. Visitors will also be helping raise essential funds to save these unique orchards.
