Take part in the Queen’s Treebilee

What is the Queen’s Treebilee?

The Treebilee is a tree planting initiative created to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee this year. Everyone is invited to plant trees from October 2021, through to the end of the Jubilee year in 2022.

Also known as ‘Her Majesty’s Green Canopy’, the initiative will create a network of individual trees in honour of The Queen’s service. This will create a green legacy of its own, with every tree bringing benefits for future wildlife, climate, and people.

Prince Charles said: “Whether you are an individual hoping to plant a single sapling in your garden, a school or community group planting a tree, a council, charity or business intending to plant a whole avenue of trees or a farmer looking to create new hedgerows, everyone across the country can get involved.”

How Grow at Brogdale can help

At Brogdale, we are home to the world’s largest collection fruit trees – this is a very unique collection of thousands of rare and heritage trees.  Grow at Brogdale is a plant centre based at Brogdale Farm.  The fruit trees it grows and sells are very special as they are grafted from the National Fruit Collection, the only plant centre permitted to do so.  This means that their  fruit trees include a wide range of rare and heritage varieties, allowing you to plant a little piece of history.

Grow would love to help people get involved in this fantastic initiative and can work with you to find the right species for your space. Whether this is a solo project in your garden, an avenue of trees in your local area, or perhaps at your local school. At Grow, they can not only supply the tree, but can also teach you everything you need to know in order to take care of planting and growing your tree.
